Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is seeking an RN Clinical Educator to lead wound, ostomy and continence (WOCN) education and clinical support within an acute and rehabilitative care setting in Houston, TX. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses and care teams to improve patient outcomes.

The educator will coordinate training, drive best practices, and participate in program development and quality initiatives while upholding patient rights and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure as a registered nurse.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing or related field.
• Successful completion of a WOCN approved educational program.
• Certification by the WOCNCB with CWOCN (3 specialties) or CWON (2 specialties).

Responsibilities

• Supports hospital staff through patient care coordination and education.
• Serves as a clinical resource for GI, GU, and integumentary wound care.
• Provides clinical education, research, and administrative support.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality while delivering high-quality care.
• Ensures cost-efficiency and appropriate use of resources.
• Demonstrates competency through annual validation and equipment handling.
