Job summary

Pisgah Legal Services in Western North Carolina is seeking a Regional Development Officer to expand contributed revenue across the service area. You will work with the development team to grow annual campaigns and major gifts, focusing on Macon and Jackson counties.

The role requires 5+ years in development or fundraising, strong donor relations, public speaking, writing, and data analysis. A valid driver’s license and travel within the region are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in Development or fundraising.
• Strong donor communication and relationship-building skills.
• Deep understanding of Western North Carolina and the assigned counties.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Commitment to PLS’ mission, values, and vision.
• With focus on Macon & Jackson counties, manages a portfolio of individuals by creating a strong annual donor strategy and multi-year plan.
• Communicate with portfolio through face-to-face cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings; ensure clear strategy and timeline.
• Track donor interactions to meet annual performance metrics and fundraising results.
• Assist the Chief Development Officer in setting annual and long-range development goals for targeted donor segments.
• Plan and staff special projects and events in support of fundraising priorities.
• Stay informed about PLS program operations and priorities.
• Represent PLS at community events, including some evening/weekend events.
• Engage in public speaking presentations for businesses, civic groups, and faith communities.
• Recruit and support volunteers with the Volunteer and Pro Bono Teams.
• Support Grants Team with funding sources in assigned counties.
• Assist Community Outreach Team in building relationships with local partners.
• Identify contacts in grant submissions and strengthen county grantor relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
