Job summary

SLMCON is seeking a System Architect to translate complex warehouse operations into scalable, secure technology solutions. You will define end‑to‑end architecture for WMS and integrations, guide design decisions, and provide technical leadership through implementation and adoption across client projects.

The role requires deep warehouse knowledge, strong API/EDI experience, and ability to collaborate with business and tech leaders.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience in systems analysis, solution or application architecture, WMS implementation, or enterprise supply chain technology.
• Deep knowledge of warehouse management processes and solution design across receiving, put‑away, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, labour, automation, and exception handling.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise business application architecture, including component design, integration and data patterns, security, scalability, availability, observability.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, Java, Python, JSON, XML and scripting tools, with ability to assess code and data approaches.

Responsibilities

• Define end‑to‑end architecture of WMS solutions and integrations, data flows, custom components, and infrastructure.
• Provide technical direction to analysts, developers, vendors, and integration teams; review designs and resolve cross‑system issues.
• Define integration architecture, interface patterns, data ownership, error handling, observability, and security requirements across connected systems.
• Train warehouse staff on system functionality, workflows, and operating procedures.
• Monitor solution performance and recommend improvements to reduce cost and improve correctness.
