Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Shoe Holdings seeks an experienced Software Developer to support, maintain, and enhance our Warehouse Management System (WMS) built in Open Basic. You will work with warehouse operations, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure efficient receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and reporting processes.

Responsibilities include diagnosing production issues, developing enhancements, and supporting integrations with ERP, reporting, and data analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience developing or supporting Open Basic applications.
• Experience supporting WMS or logistics applications.
• Strong troubleshooting in a live operational environment.
• Understanding of warehouse processes and inventory workflows.
• Experience with relational databases and data queries.
• Ability to translate user requirements into practical solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain the WMS in Open Basic.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues in a warehouse setting.
• Develop, test, and deploy enhancements and bug fixes.
• Gather requirements with users and translate into technical solutions.
• Support core warehouse workflows (receiving, put-away, inventory, picking, packing, shipping).
• Monitor performance and propose reliability improvements.
• Create system documentation and support procedures.
• Assist with reporting and operational data analysis.
• Participate in testing, release management, and after-hours support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT and operations.
