Job summary

The Wisconsin State Government Relations Director for the Alzheimer’s Association serves as the principal staff for state government affairs and chief lobbyist in Wisconsin.

The role represents the Association before the state legislature, governor, agencies, and coalitions, and develops a strategy to implement nationwide state policy priorities including insurance, Medicaid, long-term care, and aging policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 5 years experience in state government affairs.
• Wisconsin experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a multi-year state legislative and regulatory agenda with a focus on policy priorities.
• Draft bills and regulatory language and secure sponsors.
• Testify before state legislative committees and train volunteers and staff to testify.
• Build relationships with legislators, state officials and communities; participate in statewide task forces and coalitions.
• Track state legislation using the tracking system and monitor committee activity.
