Job summary

Cates Control Systems in Plano, TX is hiring a Wiring Technician to assemble wiring components on control panel backplates and enclosures, following schematics. On-site role with two shifts and overtime opportunities. You will review drawings, maintain quality, complete checklists, and work with teammates to deliver panels.

Requirements include reading schematics and at least two years' wiring experience; a high school diploma is preferred. Competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics; 2+ years of experience.
• 2 years of control panel wiring experience preferred.
• 2 years of hand tool experience preferred.
• Familiarity with UL 508A and NEC preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical components on control panel backplates and enclosures using wiring schematics.
• Ensure wires, labels, colors, and terminations meet quality standards.
• Review electrical drawings and identify discrepancies before beginning work.
• Complete required checklists, documentation, and job time tracking.
• Mark drawing changes appropriately and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Work with teammates to deliver quality control panels.

Schedule

Choose from two shifts:

• First shift: 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Second shift: 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Saturday availability is expected one Saturday per month, from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Overtime pay is available for eligible hours worked beyond 40 hours per week, in accordance with applicable law.
