Job summary

Divcon is seeking Wiring Technicians to assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels from schematics and work instructions. You will layout components, mount hardware, terminate wiring, and verify panel function for commercial and mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting wiring issues, maintaining safety standards, and supporting shop tasks. The role supports fast-paced production with attention to detail and quality.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in control panel assembly or wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic manufacturing processes and panel shop best practices.
  • Proficiency using common assembly tools, including hand drills, termination screwdrivers, wire cutters, and other hand tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and wire control panels using technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
  • Perform panel layout, component mounting, and wiring/termination to meet project specifications
  • Produce high-quality UL508 control panels for commercial and mission-critical applications
  • Test completed panels to verify proper function and identify wiring/component issues
  • Troubleshoot and correct wiring errors, component malfunctions, and build discrepancies
  • Follow all safety standards and ensure safe work practices throughout the assembly process
  • Identify and communicate issues or discrepancies with schematics, tools, parts, or equipment to the Panel Shop Lead
  • Monitor stock levels of panel shop consumables and notify the Panel Shop Lead when materials are low
  • Manufacture subassemblies and prepare cut or pre-made materials as required for production
  • Support general shop and facility needs, including light maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing lights, moving furniture/equipment)
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace through daily cleanup and proper disposal of trash and materials

About the role:

We are seeking out Wiring Technicians responsible for the physical assembly, wiring, and testing of industrial control panels. This role fabricates panels from electrical schematics and work instructions, including component layout, mechanical mounting, wiring/termination, and functional verification. In addition to meeting daily production requirements, the Wiring Technician may assist with basic facility and shop upkeep tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and work on the shop floor for extended periods
  • Ability to use hand tools repetitively and safely
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 lbs (with assistance when needed)
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work in panel enclosures and tight spaces
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and read printed labels/schematics
  • Manufacturing/panel shop environment with exposure to noise, tools, wiring equipment, and electrical components
  • Use of PPE may be required depending on task and work area
  • Work may involve occasional coordination with warehouse or jobsite-related staging activities
