Job summary

A leading Ag-Tech company in Seattle is seeking a Wiring Harness Engineer to design and lay out electrical harness systems. You will collaborate with mechanical and software peers while supporting the manufacturing of harnesses. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on wiring harness design, and knows how to work in fast-paced environments. Qualifications

Carbon Robotics LaserWeeder™ leverages advanced robotics, computer vision, AI/deep learning, and lasers to eliminate weeds with sub‑millimeter accuracy—no herbicides. This innovative solution reduces environmental impact, promotes soil health, and helps farmers address labor shortages and rising costs. Designed in Seattle and built at our cutting‑edge manufacturing facility in Richland, Washington, the LaserWeeder is setting a new standard for automated weed control.

We are looking for a Wiring Harness Engineer to design and lay out electrical harness systems, collaborate with mechanical and software peers, and support manufacturing of harnesses.

What you’ll do
  • Work in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary team to design revolutionary products.
  • Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, grounding, RF, communication, and high‑speed data signals, selecting components and hardware.
  • Prototype, troubleshoot, and iterate wiring system designs with ownership and deep collaboration.
  • Design and integrate harness routing, support brackets, and write work instructions for hardware installation.
  • Support assembly and testing of cables and harnesses from early engineering through post‑sales support.
  • Deliver results through project planning, task management, delegation, and problem‑solving to iterate quickly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success
  • 3+ years experience as Electrical Engineer designing wiring harnesses for large electrical systems.
  • Experience with Capital Harness design software (required).
  • Experience with Altium Harness design (plus).
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing of harnesses.
  • Experience with vehicle or automotive harnesses.
  • Experience with high‑voltage (40 kV+) and/or 240 V harness design preferred.
  • Experience designing wiring systems for harsh outdoor environments with EMI.
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS (preferred).
  • Experience with Jira (plus).
  • Hands‑on experience in hardware debugging and automated verification.
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial sensors/controllers (plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to achieve timely objectives.
  • Awareness of industry standards and regulations (SAE, ISO, IPC, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • BS+ in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Compensation

Base salary range: $125,000—$150,000 USD (target budgeted). Additional compensation may include benefits premiums, pre‑IPO stock options, and on‑target earning commissions.
