Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer in Troy, MI to design, package, and release vehicle wiring harnesses while ensuring manufacturability and cost effectiveness. You will collaborate with designers, manufacturing, and customer engineering to integrate harnesses into vehicles per guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial).
• 3+ years in automotive wiring harness design/release.
• Experience with design release processes and changes.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Willingness to travel to Mexico and customer sites.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to package harnesses per Stellantis guidelines.
• Apply DFM to ensure efficient production.
• Support vehicle build events and on-site engineering support.
• Coordinate and document engineering changes and costs.
• Drive cost reduction through design improvements.
• Review warranty data to identify root causes.
• Communicate status and changes to teams and customers.
• Coordinate with manufacturing sites to align design and production.
• Resolve design issues using structured problem solving.
