Job summary

Compass Resourcing is helping a growing manufacturer of control panels and power distribution systems in hiring qualified Wireman for their Tomball location. This would be an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a rapidly growing organization in an industry poised for continued growth over the next few of decades.

Ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience building, wiring, testing, repairing, and remanufacturing control panels, switchgear, MCC, VFD, PLC, control houses, etc.

Overview

We are looking for a Wireman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical wiring/ installation and be able to read and interpret control diagrams one line, 3 line and electronic schematics. The Wireman will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring systems, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise. We are looking for a reliable individual who can work independently and take initiative when needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret all types of electrical drawings and layouts.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems and components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including, ammeters, and test lamps.
• Operate forklift, overhead crane, or jib crane to relocate panels.
• Be able to work independently and with a team.

Requirements

• Job Type – Full-time
• Schedule – 8-hour shift - must be flexible for OT and weekends as needed or required
• Experience – Electrical wiring: 3 years (Required)
• Hand tools - need to have a good set of hand tools

Work Environment

• Shop environment - with both climate controlled and non-climate controlled areas
• Outside - be able to work outside to assemble skid mounted control houses when needed
