Job summary

ThinkTek LLC is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to support a Department of War client in the National Capital Region with a focus on Aruba wireless infrastructure. This is ideal for an engineer early in their career who will work alongside senior peers and expand responsibilities as they gain depth in wireless and networking.

The role covers lifecycle replacement, system integration, documentation, and cybersecurity compliance, with opportunities to contribute to test plans and engineering

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required.
• 3–5 years of enterprise network engineering experience.
• Experience with Aruba, Cisco, or equivalent wireless platforms.
• Knowledge of routing/switching fundamentals (VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, subnetting).
• Understanding of network integration and secure transport across enclaves.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across wireless and wired stack.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and sustainment of Aruba wireless infrastructure (mobility controllers, access points, AirWave).
• Manage access point lifecycle replacement: staging, configuration, cutover, validation.
• Coordinate with installation crews for access point and cabling work; verify results.
• Assist with change management and authorized service interruption planning with Government staff.
• Troubleshoot and escalate wireless faults under guidance of senior engineers; use diagnostics and site surveys.
• Assist with ClearPass configuration and 802.1X authentication activities.
• Support cybersecurity compliance, including STIGs and vulnerability remediation.
• Create configuration standards, network diagrams, and as-built records.
