In this technical role, you will be at the center of our cellular standards group responsible for promoting the wireless technologies of our innovative wireless SoC products. You will have the chance to create algorithms and architectures of wireless communication systems, as well as collaborate with extraordinary RF/analog, HW, SW designers and architects to design SoC products for millions of Apple customers!

Description

Core responsibilities include designing and simulating wireless communication systems for 5G and 6G technologies, including channel coding, advanced MIMO systems, mobility, protocols for energy saving, AI/ML for air interface enhancements, sensing techniques, and control and data channel optimization for cellular systems. Attend global standards meetings, including 3GPP, to promote Apple product preferences. Collaborate with product teams to develop novel architectures, protocols, and algorithms to meet the requirements of emerging applications in challenging radio environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of wireless communication systems (e.g., OFDM/MIMO, etc.).
• Proven experience in algorithm development and implementation for communication systems or signal processing algorithms, with the ability to develop and optimize performance.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and excellent communication skills.
• Motivated team player capable of delivering ambitious tasks in a timely manner.
• BSc degree and 3+ years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. focusing on communication systems, signal processing, or AI/ML for wireless communication.
• Experience with 3GPP standardization, especially in 3GPP RAN4.
• Strong understanding of communication theory and algorithms, including timing recovery, modulation, channel estimation, MIMO detection, coding, and beamforming.
• Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless communication theory, and system design.
• Knowledge of wireless protocols such as 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, Wi-Fi standards, and Bluetooth/BLE.

Apple offers a competitive total compensation package, including base pay ranging from $143,100 to $264,200, depending on skills, experience, and location.
