In this technical role, you will be at the center of our cellular standards group responsible for promoting the wireless technologies of our innovative wireless SoC products. You will have the chance to create algorithms and architectures of wireless communication systems, as well as collaborate with extraordinary RF/analog, HW, SW designers and architects to design SoC products for millions of Apple customers!

Description

Core responsibilities include:

1. Designing and simulating wireless communication systems for 5G and 6G technologies, including channel coding, advanced MIMO systems, protocols for energy saving, AI/ML for air interface enhancements, sensing techniques, control and data channel optimization for cellular systems.
2. Attending global standards meetings, including 3GPP, to promote Apple product preferences.
3. Collaborating with product teams to develop novel architectures, protocols, and algorithms to meet emerging application requirements in challenging radio environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of wireless communication systems (e.g., OFDM/MIMO, etc.).
• Proven experience in algorithm development and implementation for communication systems or signal processing algorithms, including performance tuning and optimization strategies.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Team-oriented motivation and ability to deliver tasks timely.
• BS degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in communication systems, signal processing, or AI/ML for wireless communication.
• Knowledge of wireless protocols such as 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, Wi-Fi standards, Bluetooth/BLE.
• Strong understanding of communication theory and algorithms like timing recovery, modulation, MIMO detection, coding, beamforming.
• Experience in high-load, noisy environment system design.
• Low-power algorithm design experience.
• Knowledge of multi-radio coexistence management.
• Deep understanding of wireless component impairments and calibration methods.
• Experience with modem and microprocessor architectures, hardware/software control.

Pay & Benefits
