Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is hiring for a hands-on technician role in Houston, TX. You will assist with inspection, repair, splicing, and installation of crane cables and rigging while supporting the overhead crane operations and maintenance team.

The role requires experience with rope splicing, use of related tools, and a valid driver's license with a clean record. A safety-first mindset and reliable work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tools and equipment used to splice, repair, and replace wire rope cables.
• Ability to splice fiber and wire rope slings and rigging; correct eye/long splices and knot tying.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the inspection of cables for defects.
• Assist in repairing, splicing, and lubricating traction cables.
• Assist in splicing fiber and wire rope slings and rigging.
• Assist in installation of new cables and maintaining cable tension carriages.
• Inspect, repair, and install sheaves, lagging, and components.
• Operate overhead crane and machinery.
• Drive motor vehicles.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
