Job summary

Certex USA, Inc. in Charleston, SC is seeking a detail-oriented Wire Rope Assembler to fabricate, inspect, and assemble rope products to meet quality standards and customer specifications.

The position involves interpreting drawings, calculating cut lengths, splicing wire rope, operating swaging and testing equipment, and maintaining inventory in a warehouse setting. Overtime and travel may be required to support training and deliveries.

Qualifications

• Proficient at math and reading.
• Must be able to manage time effectively.
• Able to accurately read a tape measure or digital micrometer.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret drawings and blueprints and capacity tables.
• Understand codes and specifications as outlined on order tickets.
• Calculate wire rope cut lengths, fittings, and identify equipment for rope/chain assemblies.
• Splice wire rope and fabricate chain slings.
• Operate swaging machines, proof testing machines, and forklifts.
• Attach proper tags and labels to products.
• Maintain inventory records.
• Report defective or substandard material or product.
• Ship and receive goods.
• Keep work area and tools clean and safe per guidelines.
• May assist with deliveries when needed.
