Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. seeks a Wire Harness Technician to assemble harnesses for spacecraft, perform testing, and support hardware development. You will read schematics, follow work instructions, and document work in the MES system while collaborating with engineers.

This on-site role in Northern California requires 2+ years aerospace experience and the ability to lift 25 lbs. US citizenship or Green Card is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on technician experience in aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
• Proficiency in wire crimping and harness assembly.
• Familiarity with precision tools.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build harnesses used on spacecraft and support hardware development activities.
• Read schematics, follow work instructions, and perform cutting, stripping, crimping, and routing.
• Execute connectorizations and integrate harnesses with existing hardware.
• Maintain MES documentation and report non-conformances.
• Test harnesses using Cirris, DMM, and cable eye; participate in equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers on new equipment bring-up and process improvements.
• Uphold safety and quality standards.

Wire Harness Technician

The Wire Harness Technician will be primarily responsible for assembling harnesses used on the spacecraft, in environmental testing, and for hardware development activities. They will uphold quality standards congruent with space applications. They will interface directly with harness manufacturing and design engineers in design document and work instruction review. They are also responsible for area organization, 5S implementation, maintaining production equipment, and documentation diligence inside of the manufacturing execution system.

Role

• You're awesome at building harnesses
• Read and digest the schematics, follow work instructions, execute all related tasks including cutting, stripping, crimping, routing
• Execute 'connectorizations'; meaning adding harnesses to existing supplier provided hardware
• Maintaining detailed documentation through our MES; specifically entering relevant data into work instruction steps, reporting non-conformances, be vocal about potential assembly improvements
• Execute testing of harnesses (Cirris, DMM, cable eye)
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to support new manufacturing equipment bring up or process improvements
• Uphold Safety and Quality standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working hands-on as a technician in the aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
• Proficiency in wire crimping and harness assembly
• Familiarity with precision tools
• Excellent attention to detail
• Climbing ladders, long durations of standing, grasping, sitting, pulling, and physical bending movements
• Must be able to lift 25lbs, unassisted
• This role requires to work onsite
• US Citizenship or Green Card

Bonus

• IPC620 working knowledge or certification
• Experience reading technical drawings / schematics
• Experience with testers (Cirris, Cable eye)
• Experience in the aerospace industry
• Advanced soldering skills
• 5S and cleanroom experience

The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.

Base Hourly Pay: $30—$43 USD
