Role Description The Wire Harness Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Livonia, MI, responsible for assembling, routing, and testing wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include cutting, crimping, stripping, and labeling wires; installing connectors, terminals, and protective coverings; and organizing cables into harnesses using tools, fixtures, and jigs. The technician inspects completed assemblies for quality, continuity, and adherence to specifications, documents work performed, and may assist in troubleshooting and rework when issues are identified. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, following ISO/IPC and company procedures, and collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and team members to meet production schedules and quality targets.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with cables and cable assemblies, including reading cable schedules and following harness layouts.
  • Experience with structured cabling and organized routing practices in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of electricity, including safe handling of electrical components and awareness of electrical safety standards.
  • Proficiency with hand tools used in wire harness assembly (crimpers, cutters, strippers, torque tools, and measuring devices).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.

  • Comfort working in a production environment, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with a diverse team.
