Job summary

RVI is seeking a Wire Harness Production Lead to supervise daily operations on the production floor. You will guide workflow, ensure adherence to drawings and procedures, and maintain safety and quality standards on the wire harness line.

You will train and coach teammates, adjust priorities to support schedules, and collaborate with Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, and Sales to resolve issues and maintain productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Two years of manufacturing experience preferred (wire harness preferable).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, safety rules, and customer requirements.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and feedback skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production on the wire harness line and direct floor activities.
• Communicate work priorities and adjust tasks to meet schedules.
• Monitor workflow and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Identify constraints and report issues to management and relevant departments.
• Record labor and production data in ERP system accurately.
• Provide on-the-floor training and immediate coaching to employees.
• Coordinate with Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, and Sales as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production area.

Wire Harness Production Lead

provides hands-on leadership and daily work direction to employees involved in wire harness manufacturing. This position works closely with Management to ensure production priorities are understood, employees have the resources needed to complete assigned work, and products are built safely, efficiently, and according to RVI quality and customer requirements. The Lead serves as the primary point of contact on the production floor for workflow, training, quality, and production issues.

What does a Wire Harness Production Lead do for RVI?

They:

• Review daily production priorities with Management and communicate work direction to employees.
• Assign and adjust work throughout the day to support production schedules and customer priorities.
• Monitor workflow through wire preparation, terminating, assembly, splicing, looming, and testing operations.
• Identify production constraints, material shortages, equipment issues, and quality concerns and communicate them to the appropriate department.
• Ensure employees accurately record labor, quantities, and production activity in RVI's ERP system.
• Ensure employees follow drawings, work instructions, quality procedures, safety requirements, and established manufacturing processes.
• Ensure products are properly built, inspected, and tested to meet customer requirements.
• Provide hands-on training, coaching, and immediate feedback to production employees.
• Identify additional training or performance needs and communicate them to Management.
• Coordinate with Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, Sales/Project Management, and Management when issues affect production.
• Move personnel between production areas when necessary to maintain workflow and support changing priorities.
• Assist with production work as needed to support schedules, employee absences, or production constraints.
• Encourage employee accountability, teamwork, cross-training, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment.
• Communicate employee attendance, performance, conduct, safety, or workplace concerns to Management in a timely manner.

• Understands basic manufacturing math including measurements, fractions, decimals, percentages, rates, and ratios.
• Works effectively with employees and other departments and treats others with professionalism and respect.
• Is willing to remain hands-on and assist with production when needed.
• Has a High School Diploma or GED and two years of manufacturing experience preferred. Wire harness manufacturing and previous leadership experience are preferred.

The Wire Harness Production Lead must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform production-floor activities including standing, bending, reaching, and walking for extended periods.
