Job summary

Wire EDM Programmer will program, set up, and operate Wire EDM equipment to manufacture precision components and tooling to exact specifications. This role requires strong Wire EDM programming experience, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work with tight tolerances in a precision manufacturing environment.

Position is on 2nd shift, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a 4-day work week and Friday overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines for precision manufacturing.
• Develop and modify Wire EDM programs from drawings and specs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, dimensions, tolerances.
• Determine machine settings, cutting strategies, offsets, sequences.
• Set up workpieces, fixtures, tooling, and parameters.
• Perform first piece inspections and verify parts meet specs.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect components.
• Troubleshoot programming, setup, and machining issues.
• Make program and process adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.
• Maintain production and inspection documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Follow safety, quality, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines for precision manufacturing applications
• Develop and modify Wire EDM programs based on engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, dimensions, and tolerances
• Determine appropriate machine settings, cutting strategies, offsets, and machining sequences
• Set up workpieces, fixtures, tooling, and machine parameters
• Perform first piece inspections and verify completed parts meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components
• Troubleshoot programming, setup, and machining issues
• Make program and process adjustments to improve accuracy, quality, and efficiency
• Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel to resolve technical issues
• Follow established safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures

Qualifications- REQUIRED

• Previous Wire EDM programming, setup, and operating experience
• Strong knowledge of Wire EDM machining principles and processes
• Ability to independently program and set up Wire EDM equipment
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
• Experience working with tight tolerance precision components
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
