Job summary

Calisota Parts in Michigan is seeking an experienced Wire EDM Operator to program, set up, and operate Wire EDM equipment for tooling, prototypes, and production parts in a precision manufacturing environment.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, select tooling and machine parameters, perform first-piece and in-process inspections, document results, and work closely with Engineering, Quality, Tool & Die, and Production to maintain tight tolerances and high quality.

Qualifications

• Experience with wire EDM setup and operation.
• Programming experience preferred.
• Precision machining, tooling, or mold/die experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM equipment for tooling, prototype, and production work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Select appropriate wire, fixtures, workholding, and machine parameters for each job.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish requirements throughout production.
• Troubleshoot programming, setup, cutting, flushing, and dimensional issues.
• Maintain accurate production, inspection, and machine records.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Tool & Die, and Production personnel.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and operator-level preventive maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to quality, cycle time, and process reliability.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Wire EDM Operator

Calisota Parts is seeking an experienced Wire EDM Operator to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Wire EDM equipment to produce precision tooling, prototypes, and production components to exact customer requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced in precision manufacturing environments where tight tolerances, accuracy, and quality are critical.
