Job summary

Granite City Electric is hiring a Wire Cutting Machine Operator for our Chicopee, MA location. The shift runs 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the role involves operating wire-cutting and respooling equipment to meet customer specs.

You will load reels, measure and cut wire, and maintain accurate data in Eclipse. Candidates should be mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous machine operation, warehouse, or distribution experience preferred.
• Electrical wire or cable cutting experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of machinery, hand tools, and warehouse equipment.
• Forklift and other powered equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate wire-cutting, coiling, and respooling equipment per work orders.
• Load/unload master reels onto equipment.
• Measure and cut wire to specified lengths and package accordingly.
• Record cuts and reel data accurately in the Eclipse system.
• Move materials safely with forklift or manual handling equipment.
• Inspect equipment and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow policies, participate in training and safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with customers, coworkers, and leadership.
