Job summary

Border States is hiring a Warehouse Associate – Wire Cutter in Phoenix, AZ to support wire cutting operations. You will run the wire machine, identify wire by reel labels, maintain batch codes, and maximize cuts per reel while keeping logs and inspection sheets up to date.

You will fill orders, assist with backorders, and coordinate with other departments to resolve damages or shortages, while upholding safety and house rules in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• 2 year business/trade degree or equivalent work experience.
• Prior warehouse distribution experience including forklift operation and knowledge of electrical products/systems preferred.
• If the employee will be driving, candidate must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
• PC working knowledge for Windows, Internet, email, and SAP software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate the wire machine in a safe and effective manner.
• Identify wire based on reel labels and maintain batch codes.
• Identify top and bottom footages on cuts completed.
• Update and maintain the wire cut log.
• Fill special orders and/or backorders as material is received.
• Follows‑up with appropriate departments for wire material damages and shortages.
• Distributes material to the proper stock locations.
• Checks and packs material to be delivered.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area for a safe work environment.
