Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply in Irving, TX is seeking a Wire Cutter to work 7am–7pm, Friday through Sunday, with every other Thursday off. The role is based in a fast-paced warehouse environment within the Sonepar electrical distribution group.

You will measure and cut wire and cable, perform quality checks, operate various forklifts, and ensure safe, accurate packaging and shipping of products. Candidates should have basic math skills and a willingness to learn SOPs.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience and/or training is preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
• Forklift certification a plus
• Manual agility required for operating machinery and handling small parts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wire/cable to size with accuracy.
• Fill out lot cards accurately (basic math).
• Quality control to prevent damaged goods.
• Verify equipment is safe and calibrated as needed.
• Package products for shipping; label and shrink wrap.
• Stage, load and unload product from trucks.
• Move wire/cable to warehouse racks and manage waste.
• Operate PIT forklifts (stand-up, reach, order picker, sit-down).
• Maintain daily PIT logs.
• Keep work area clean and safe per SOPs.
• Follow OSHA safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wire/cable of differing sizes and weights with accuracy
• Fill out lot cards accurately (Basic addition and subtraction skills are required)
• *Responsible for quality control* to make sure no damaged product is sent out or brought in
• Verify all equipment is in safe working condition and calibrated as needed
• Verify and package product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Stage product for loading
• Load and unload product from trucks
• Move wire/cable to warehouse rack storage and move waste to dumpsters when needed
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) - Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down propane forklift are included.
• Complete daily logs for PIT
• Clean and maintain a safe working area
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
• Other duties as assigned
