Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply in Irving, TX is hiring a Wire Cutter for 7am–7pm, Fri-Sun and every other Thu. The role involves measuring and cutting wire, stocking, and shipping duties in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

As a full-time position, you will help maintain quality control, operate PIT equipment, and support loading/unloading. A high school diploma and basic math skills are required, with forklift certification a plus.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience and/or training preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Forklift certification a plus.
• Manual agility required for operating machinery and handling small parts.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wire/cable of differing sizes and weights with accuracy.
• Fill out lot cards accurately (basic addition and subtraction).
• Quality control to ensure no damaged product is sent out or brought in.
• Verify equipment is in safe working condition and calibrated as needed.
• Package product for shipping (shrink wrap, boxing, labeling).
• Load and unload product from trucks.
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) including stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wire/cable of differing sizes and weights with accuracy
• Fill out lot cards accurately (Basic addition and subtraction skills are required)
• *Responsible for quality control* to make sure no damaged product is sent out or brought in
• Verify all equipment is in safe working condition and calibrated as needed
• Verify and package product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Stage product for loading
• Load and unload product from trucks
• Move wire/cable to warehouse rack storage and move waste to dumpsters when needed
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) - Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down propane forklift are included.
• Complete daily logs for PIT
• Clean and maintain a safe working area
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience and/or training is preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
• Forklift certification a plus
• Manual agility required for operating machinery and handling small parts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
