Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply is hiring for a Wire Yard Manager in Katy, TX. The role leads warehouse associates, supervises wire picking and cutting, and oversees inventory and quality control in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires a high school diploma, 3–5 years of related experience, and PIT certification. You’ll work within SOPs and OSHA standards, with physical duties including lifting and operating lifting equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of related experience.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
• PIT proficiency: reach truck, order picker, “sit down” propane. Current certification a plus.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Learn to use and train to use machines specifically intended for cutting and measuring wire.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse associates

• Ensure Wire product is handled appropriately so that it’s not damaged during cutting, storage or shipment
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
• Stage product for loading
• Unload materials from truck
• Move materials to warehouse for storage
• Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out; no damaged material is accepted in
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit down propane fork lift
• Complete daily and weekly logs for PIT and quality processes
• Clean and maintain work areas
• Develop and lead team of warehouse associates
• Other duties as assigned
