Job summary

Crawford Electric Supply in Irving, TX is hiring for a Wire Cutter position. The role requires handling wire/cable, operating PIT equipment, and maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The successful candidate will perform cutting, packing, loading/unloading, and daily PIT log duties while adhering to SOPs and OSHA standards. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related experience and/or training preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
• Forklift certification a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wire/cable with accuracy.
• Fill out lot cards accurately.
• Quality control to prevent damaged product from leaving or entering.
• Verify equipment is safe and calibrated.
• Package product for shipping and label accordingly.
• Stage product for loading and unload from trucks.
• Move wire/cable to warehouse rack storage and manage waste.
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) including stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down forklift.
• Complete daily PIT logs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Follow SOPs and OSHA safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut wire/cable of differing sizes and weight with accuracy
• Fill out lot cards accurately (Basic addition and subtraction skills are required)
• *Responsible for quality control* to make sure no damaged product is sent out or brought in
• Verify all equipment is in safe working condition and calibrated as needed
• Verify and package product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Stage product for loading
• Load and unload product from trucks
• Move wire/cable to warehouse rack storage and move waste to dumpsters when needed
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) - Stand up, reach truck, order picker and sit-down propane forklift are included.
• Complete daily logs for PIT
• Clean and maintain a safe working area
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
• Forklift certification a plus
• Manual agility required for operating machinery and handling small parts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
