Job summary

CSA Group Testing & Certification Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to set up and operate testing equipment, perform routine and specialized tests, and document results. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety practices, and strong organization to support certification activities.

You will work under supervision with senior staff on various wire and cable tests, maintain lab equipment, and ensure quality data and reports are prepared for review by engineers and clients.

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate or equivalent education required.
• Associate's degree in engineering technology or 2–4 years related experience in wire and cable testing preferred.
• Experience with wire and cable testing standards CSA C22.2 No. 2556 / UL 2556 and NFPA 262 preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and testing instruments is beneficial.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and test data.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate test equipment for routine and specific tests.
• Record technical data and draft test result reports.
• Assess compliance with requirements and assist in certification decisions.
• Maintain lab equipment, housekeeping, and safety standards.
• Support senior staff on complex tests and projects.
