Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an experienced electro-mechanical assembler in the San Diego area. You will perform a wide range of complex assembly operations, wire harnessing, and testing under limited supervision to support high-reliability aerospace and defense products.

You will read wiring diagrams and BOMs, assemble to schematics, and assist in First Article Assembly, with emphasis on quality, safety, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school education or equivalent; trade school certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years closely related custom/prototype assembly experience in an electromechanical environment; hands-on wire & cable harness assembly experience preferred.
• Experience with: wire stripping, tinning, crimping, and soldering.
• Experience supporting First Article Assembly (FAI) builds; able to read wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings and BOMs.
• Advanced use of hand tools and crimp tools; soldering equipment; basic electrical test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform wire preparation tasks including stripping, tinning, lead prep, and termination.
• Hand solder wires and cables to high density and/or low profile connectors while maintaining industry workmanship standards.
• Crimp, stake, fasten, and secure wires, connectors, terminals, and contacts using hand and pneumatic crimp tools.
• Perform complex wire and cable harness assembly operations, including point-to-point wiring, harness routing, lacing, and tie-down.
• Assemble wire harnesses and cables per electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Support First Article Assembly (FAI) builds: create units from new/revised drawings and identify issues; provide feedback to teams.
• Install and route components to meet electrical, mechanical, and workmanship requirements.
• Use tools to assemble connectors, cables, and components; perform visual and electrical testing; troubleshoot defects.
• Follow safety procedures; complete production documentation and quality logs; provide basic training to less experienced assemblers.
