Job summary

Cabinetworks Group in Culver, IN is seeking a Sanding/Wiping Operator for the finishing line. You will sand with a block or sponge and wipe finishes, ensuring grain direction and clean surfaces.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to read move tickets, and good teamwork and communication to support production and quality standards; training across multiple duties may occur. Safety is emphasized; you will follow all safety rules, wear PPE, and participate in environment and process

Responsibilities

• Sand and wipe product on the finishing line using a sanding block or sponge (sand with grain).
• Wipe finishes on the line with the grain, checking for rag marks or drag marks.
• Communicate with various departments and personnel.
• Maintain production and quality standards.
• Follow all safety rules, JSA and work instructions.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner.
• Actively participate with the normal work team.
• Fix unsafe conditions if possible and report condition to supervisor.
• Follow all environmental policies.
• At minimum must be cross trained in job prior to and after current position in process flow.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

• Sand and wipe product on the finishing line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform sanding duties on the line using a sanding block or sanding sponge. (careful to sand with the grain of the wood)
• Perform wiping duties on the line using a wiping rag. (Careful to wipe with the grain of the wood and checking for rag marks or drag marks)
• Communicate with various departments and personnel.
• Maintain production and quality standards.
• Follow all safety rules, JSA and work instructions.
• Perform all duties in a safe manner.
• Actively participate with the natural work team.
• Fix unsafe conditions if possible and report condition to supervisor.
• Follow all environmental policies.
• At minimum must be cross trained in job prior to and after current position in process flow.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Describe each marginal function (not essential to achieving the primary purpose) in the same manner as requested in Section 2 above.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• May rotate to other departments and duties as needed.
