Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a dedicated Warehouse/Materials Handler in Sheboygan, WI to transfer materials from shuttle to WIP and packaging lines. You will unload, weigh, and organize products to maintain FIFO and ensure quality and food safety standards. The role requires basic math, adherence to GMP/HACCP/SQF, and good communication with team members.

The position is full-time and on-site, with responsibilities spanning inventory control, sanitation, and daily production paperwork as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma.
  • Prefer 1-3 years of manufacturing or food manufacturing experience.
  • Requires GMP's, HACCP and SQF guidelines understanding.
  • Requires mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Requires good oral and written communication to interact with employees.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects materials/product identification for deficiencies when unloading WIP to cooler.
  • Unloads and weighs combos, racks and barrels into WIP.
  • Organizes product by cut size, species and lot # to ensure FIFO with inventory.
  • Scans product out to and back from assigned lines in Packaging.
  • Returns combos and barrels from packaging that were not emptied back into WIP and scanned back in.
  • Monitors WIP room/area to maintain cleanliness and organization.
  • Loads trailer with clean combos, barrels, racks and rework.
  • Cleans department during breaks and when needed, including cleaning and sanitation tasks.
  • Keeps WIP room clean and organized.
  • Transfers product from Combo to Barrels using combo dumpers to hoppers at packaging lines.
  • Pulls raw materials from storage areas (film and labels) as needed for packaging.
  • Completes daily production paperwork according to quality requirements.

This position ensures that materials and in process product is transferred from the shuttle to the appropriate interim storage location or packaging line.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspects materials/ product identification for obvious deficiencies when unloading WIP to cooler.
  • Unloads and weighs each combos, racks and barrels into WIP.
  • Organizes product by cut size, species and lot # to ensure First In/ First Out with inventory.
  • Scans product out to and back from assigned lines in Packaging.
  • Returns combos and barrels from packaging that were not emptied back into WIP room and scanned back in.
  • Monitors WIP room/ area to ensure cleanliness and a high level of organization is achieved.
  • Loads trailer with clean combos, barrels, racks and rework.
  • Cleans department during Break, Lunch, and when needed, including sweeping, mopping, or assisting in Sanitation of equipment.
  • Keeps WIP room clean and organized.
  • Transfers product from Combo to Barrels using combo dumpers, dumps product into hoppers at packaging lines, as needed.
  • If needed, pulls other raw materials from storage areas, such as film and labels, and supplies them to the packaging line.
  • If needed, completes daily production paperwork according to quality requirements.
  • Takes responsibility of the work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
  • Reports all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department in order to initiate immediate action.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.
