Job summary

Wintrust invites applications for a Finance/Accounting Intern position in Rosemont, IL. The 12-week summer program runs May through August, offering 40 hours per week at $19.00 per hour as a paid internship.

You will engage in accounting, financial analysis, and related activities within a collaborative team. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Finance, Accounting, or Business major with a 3.0+ GPA, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and have leadership or volunteer experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a U.S. college or university with a focus in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong analytical, decision-making skills and interest in financial analysis.
• Leadership, extra-curricular, or volunteering experience with a results focus.
• Authorized to work permanently in the U.S. (no immigration sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical and accounting support for daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities and audits.
• Maintain controls for accounts across external reporting, fixed assets, projects, sponsorships, accruals, and intercompany items.
• Perform credit analysis, exception monitoring, and Clea ring.
• Deliver financial analysis and management reporting for business lines.

Finance/Accounting Intern Job Responsibilities:

• Provide analytical and accounting skills for the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting activities and audits for the entire Company.
• Maintaining and overseeing the controls for accounts in areas such as external financial reporting, fixed assets, projects, sponsorships, accruals, and intercompany items.
• Credit analysis, exception monitoring, and clearing.
• Financial analysis and management reporting for our lines of business.

Details:

• The 2027 program will run for 12 weeks from May through August.
• 40 hours/week, Paid summer internship.
• Participate in intern program activities, events, community service projects, and professional development opportunities with your cohort.

Compensation:

• The hourly rate for this role is $19.00/hour.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university, with preference for students entering their junior or senior year.
• Concentrations in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong analytical, decision-making skills, and an interest in financial analysis and corporate finance, as demonstrated by coursework, or prior experience.
• Leadership, extra-curricular, or volunteering experience with a passion for results.
• You must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S. now and in the future to participate in Wintrust's Commercial Banking Internship Program. Due to the high volume of applicants we receive, we do not offer immigration sponsorship (including OPT and CPT) for this program.
