Job summary
MedStar Health in Baltimore invites nursing students graduating in 2027 to apply for the Winter Student Nurse Extern Program. Externs will be placed on various units (excluding Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby, NICU, and Pediatrics) and work full-time, 12-hour shifts for about five weeks under an RN mentor.
The program includes mentorship, bi-weekly educational sessions, and potential post-program per diem employment.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program.
- Must be graduating in 2027 (May/Aug/Dec).
- BLS (CPR for Healthcare Providers) certification required by time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Externs will work full-time for five weeks on 12-hour shifts.
- Mentored by an experienced RN and interdisciplinary care team.
- Per diem employment may follow program with 16 hours per pay period and flexible scheduling during the semester.
