Job summary

The Village of Orland Park invites motivated undergraduate or graduate students to join the Recreation & Parks Department as a Winter/Spring Intern. You will rotate through Special Events, Heritage Sites, Recreation Programming, Athletics, and Fitness, gaining mentorship and hands-on municipal experience.

Responsibilities include planning, registration, data reporting, budget tracking, and assisting with events and facility improvements.

Qualifications

• Progress toward BS degree in Recreation or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills required.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and supervising recreation programs and special events.
• Support recreation program administration: registration, attendance tracking, and participant engagement; prepare reports.
• Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, and inventory management.
• Develop new programs or events based on community needs and assist in marketing efforts (social media, photos, videos).
