Job summary

The Town of Hartford, Vermont is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Highway Equipment Operator 1. This role will primarily operate a variety of trucks and other highway equipment, with winter plowing, salting and sanding as core duties.

Minimum qualifications include 2–3 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience, and a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tank Endorsement or the ability to obtain it within one year.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tank Endorsement, or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of trucks and other highway equipment, including winter plowing, salting and sanding of roads.
• Assist in general highway maintenance and construction work in other seasons.
• Focus on operation of basic to moderately complex trucks and equipment, along with manual labor.
