Job summary

WellSpan Health is offering the Winter Nurse Extern Program to help nursing students gain hands-on clinical experience during winter break. The externship provides a paid 72-hour clinical experience with a 1:1 RN preceptor and varied shifts based on the preceptor’s schedule.

This program is open to senior nursing students who are graduating Spring/Summer or Winter 2027, with completion of medical-surgical clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program.

Qualifications

• Senior nursing students graduating Spring/Summer or Winter 2027 and who completed medical surgical clinical rotation.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Open to students seeking paid winter break clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision and mentors under RN preceptor.
• Assists with data collection and documentation of care provided.
• Participates in selected therapeutic interventions as directed.
