GovFirst in Woodford, VA, is seeking dependable Winter Maintenance Laborers for seasonal, on-call, 1099 roles. You will help prepare trucks, load deicing materials, and support equipment before winter events.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED (equivalent experience may be considered) and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in cold weather, and follow safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or other physically demanding labor preferred.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Equivalent experience or training may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Prepare maintenance trucks by installing and removing plows, spreaders, mounting frames, and related equipment.
• Load salt, sand, and other deicing materials into maintenance vehicles.
• Assist with preparing equipment before winter weather events.
• Remove and install plow blades, tailgates, and related equipment.
• Clean and service plows, spreaders, and other winter maintenance equipment after operations.
• Assist with end-of-season equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Clear sidewalks, walkways, entrances, loading areas, and operational facilities as assigned.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform physically demanding manual labor, including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Follow all OSHA, company, and industry safety policies and procedures.
• Wear and properly utilize all required PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist equipment operators and maintenance personnel with assigned duties.
• Respond to emergency call-outs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and severe weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding work assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
