Job summary

GovFirst is seeking dependable Winter Maintenance Laborers to support snow removal operations in Woodford, VA. This seasonal, on-call role involves preparing equipment, loading deicing materials, and assisting crews during winter events.

You will operate hand and power tools, work outdoors in adverse weather, and follow OSHA safety standards. Prior labor experience and a valid driver's license are preferred for this physically demanding position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare maintenance trucks by installing and removing plows, spreaders, mounting frames, and related equipment.
• Load salt, sand, and other deicing materials into maintenance vehicles.
• Assist with equipment preparation before winter weather events.
• Remove and install plow blades, tailgates, and related equipment.
• Clean and service plows, spreaders, and other winter maintenance equipment after operations.
• Assist with end-of-season equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Clear sidewalks, walkways, entrances, loading areas, and operational facilities as assigned.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Respond to emergency call-outs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and severe weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding work assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
