Berkshire East Ski Resort in Charlemont, MA, seeks a Lift Operator to start in early December 2026. You will monitor guest loading on chair lifts and ensure safe operation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass lift operator training prior to working on lifts.
• Strong commitment to safety and guest service.
• Ability to communicate clearly using two-way radios.

Responsibilities

• Monitors loading and unloading of guests and related equipment on chair lifts.
• Start up and shut off lift as instructed by manager.
• Familiarize guests with safety equipment used on the lift.
• Observe and assist guests if they have difficulties using the lift.
• Ensure guests are using lifts properly and safely.
• Check lift tickets or season passes ensuring it's current and valid.
• Load and unload gear support.
• Enforce age or ability restrictions when loading the lifts.
• Maintain loading and unloading ramps at required specifications.
• Complete daily lift logs or other required paperwork.
• Report lift related accidents or injuries to manager immediately.
• Report malfunction or other lift issues to maintenance immediately.
• Assist maintenance with trouble shooting when requested.
• Complete tramway incident reports as required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
