Job summary

The Town of Becket is seeking a temporary seasonal Snowplow Driver to operate town-owned plow and salt trucks during the winter season. The position runs from November 1 through April 25, 40 hours per week, with on-call duties and no benefits.

CDL Class A or B and 2A Hoisting License are required, and prior snow plowing experience is preferred. Responsibilities include pre-treatment, plowing, and ice removal, plus assisting with highway operations as needed.

Compensation: $31.20 per hour

The Town of Becket is seeking qualified applicants for a temporary seasonal Snowplow Driver position from November 1 through April 25. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, non-benefitted position that includes mandatory on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities include operating Town-owned plow and salt trucks for pre-treatment, plowing, snow and ice removal, as well as assisting with the daily operations of the Highway Department as needed.

Previous snow plowing experience is preferred. Applicants must be able to operate snow removal equipment for extended periods of time. A Class A or B CDL and 2A Hoisting License are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow and salt trucks to remove snow and ice from roads and assigned areas. Work may require early morning starts, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Respond in a timely manner when called to assist with snow plowing operations.
• Ensure that roads assigned to this position are adequately and safely plowed as required.
• Inspect equipment on a regularly scheduled basis and comply with all safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment used for snow and ice removal.
• Follow all applicable safety rules, policies, and regulations and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or other incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
