Job summary

The Town of Becket is seeking a temporary seasonal Snowplow Driver to operate town-owned plow and salt trucks during the winter season. The position runs from November 1 through April 25, 40 hours per week, with on-call duties and no benefits.

CDL Class A or B and 2A Hoisting License are required, and prior snow plowing experience is preferred. Responsibilities include pre-treatment, plowing, and ice removal, plus assisting with highway operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Class A or B CDL and 2A Hoisting License are required.
• Previous snow plowing experience preferred.
• Able to operate snow removal equipment for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow and salt trucks to remove snow and ice from roads and assigned areas.
• Respond promptly when called to assist with snow plowing operations.
• Ensure roads assigned are adequately and safely plowed as required.
• Inspect equipment regularly and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment used for snow and ice removal.
• Follow all safety rules and work with minimal supervision.
• Report equipment malfunctions or incidents to the supervisor.
