Job summary

The City of Wayzata is hiring Warming House Attendants for the skating season (December–March). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors, working with people, and helping create a safe, welcoming environment at the rink.

Attendants greet skaters, supervise the warming house and ice area, perform light cleaning and maintenance, and work evenings and weekends. Applicants must be at least 16, dependable, and prepared for winter conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and dependable.
• Availability for the full season (December–March).
• Must pass a background check.
• Basic first aid training is preferred.
• Experience supervising skating rinks or recreation activities is a plus.
• Comfortable working in winter weather.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the warming house at scheduled times.
• Greet and assist skaters; supervise the warming house and ice area.
• Perform light cleaning and daily maintenance.
• Inspect ice at shift start/end and report hazards.
• Wear appropriate winter attire during shifts.
• Maintain attendance records and assist with accident reports.
