The State of Nevada is seeking Highway Maintenance Worker II for winter-season deployments in District II including Fallon. The role involves operating a range of highway maintenance equipment, performing winter operations, and supporting emergency responses.

Applicants must meet qualifications or have Nevada state service experience; on-site work only, with opportunities for training and progression as new operators become certified.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work; or one year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform maintenance on highway maintenance equipment such as plows, graders, and trucks.
• Establish traffic controls to reroute or slow traffic in work zones and during incidents.
• Load and apply salt, sand, and anti‑icing materials; operate snow plows and related equipment.
• Respond to emergencies outside normal working hours and document actions taken.
• Provide training and oversight to certified operators in accordance with safety policies.
