Job description

The Washington County Park Authority is seeking two responsible and service-oriented individuals (or a couple/team) to serve as Winter Camp Hosts at the Washington County Park & Campground during the winter off-season. While the campground is closed to the general public from November through March, the camp hosts serve as on-site representatives of the Washington County Park Authority. This is a caretaker-style role focused on light security, cold-weather facility monitoring, support for seasonal campers who continue to access the property, and assistance to guests using the park’s 24-hour boat ramp.

Hosts are expected to reside onsite and commit to the full winter off-season: November 1 through March 31. Hosts will work approximately 15 hours per week on a rotating schedule coordinated with a second Camp Host. During the host’s week to work, evenings, weekends, and holidays would be required.

A stipend of $300/month (paid semi-monthly) will be provided in recognition of the hosts’ time and commitment to campground operations. Hosts will receive the stipend only while the Park & Campground are closed for the winter off-season.

Selected hosts will enter into a written Service Agreement outlining responsibilities, schedule, stipend payment terms, and site use terms prior to placement.
