Job summary

St. Joseph County Airport in South Bend, IN is seeking a Seasonal Manual Labor worker to support airport maintenance staff during winter snow operations and other duties as assigned. The role pays $20.00 per hour and runs for up to 26 weeks, with overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience in manual labor and/or commercial landscape maintenance or snow removal.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid United States, state issued, driver's license.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and be able to obtain security and access credentials.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical.
• Position requires constant operation of Authority vehicles on Airport grounds and public roadways.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance of equipment used in duties.
• Assist with removing and replacing heavy components.
• Drive vehicles on controlled airfield surfaces under escort with required procedures.
• Perform snow removal operations including salting, sanding, and de-icing.
• Assist with maintenance/repair of asphalt and concrete surfaces.
• Assist with fuel spill cleanups to protect the environment.
• Participate in random airport worker screenings as needed.
• Support staff during emergencies and adverse weather conditions.
