Job summary

The South Carolina Air National Guard seeks an Information Security Specialist (Title 5) to lead information protection programs across multiple disciplines. This role chairs security advisory activities, develops risk assessments, and advises leadership on risk mitigation to support air, space, and cyberspace operations.

Qualified candidates will have comprehensive experience in military security and management, along with appropriate certifications and a current background investigation.

Qualifications

• GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-0080 series require knowledge of the basic principles of the occupational series and grade.
• SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: progressively responsible work in military admin, security or personnel management.
• OTHER QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: may require a NACLC or related background investigation.
• CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: may require travel and drug testing; TS-SCI clearance may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Wing Chief of Information Protection for Air National Guard facilities.
• Advise the Commander on risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Direct activities of the WSAG to develop risk analyses and ensure information protection.
