Job summary

IOWA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD seeks an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-11, to audit information systems, manage user accounts, and investigate security incidents in support of DoD directives. The role requires military membership and adherence to security clearances.

Qualifications

• Experience with data processing functions and basic management principles enabling understanding of automating work processes.
• Specialized GS-2210-11 experience: one year at the next lower grade.
• Ability to coordinate with others outside the organizational unit and develop project controls.
• Experience adapting guidelines or precedents to meet assignment needs.
• Experience documenting cost/benefit analyses and presenting results.

Responsibilities

• Conducts audits of information systems compliance to security directives and accreditation requirements.
• Reviews account creation, privileges, and ongoing audits to ensure compliance with Army Standards.
• Investigates security incidents and remediates findings per guidance from cybersecurity teams.
• Reviews Change Configuration Board submissions and recommends actions to senior cyber team lead.
• Maintains knowledge of threats and develops policies to prevent security violations.

Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
