Department Overview:

Cambridge Winery offers award-winning wines from Wisconsin and California's central coast at its two wine tasting rooms, Madison and Cambridge. Our tasting rooms are elegant, jazzy, and intimate, providing our customers with a relaxing and memorable experience as they explore our wide selection of wines and gourmet foods. Wine stewards can expect to learn extensively about wines, work alongside knowledgeable and dedicated staff, and meet gracious customers.

10 to 12

Schedule:

Mandatory one or two shifts per week, 4-8 hours each. Availability on nights and weekends is required.

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $10.75 to $30.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Do you have knowledge or the desire to learn about fine wine? Cambridge Winery, operator of Madison's first and only wine tasting room, is looking for new team members to assist with wine sales and service. We are also hiring at the Cambridge location (transportation required).

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Wine service, presentation, and tending bar
• Wine sales in a retail capacity
• Some appetizer and food preparation and service
• Stocking of products and merchandise
• Cleaning of glassware and seating areas
• Cleaning and maintenance of the tasting room
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Applicants must:

• Be of legal age to serve alcohol
• Have evening and weekend availability
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Show independent initiative
• Work well as part of a team
• Possess excellent people skills and communication skills

Ideal candidates would (but are not required to) possess:

• Basic understanding of wine and wine production
• Previous restaurant and/or sales experience
• Previous experience in retail
• A desire for continuous improvement
• Reliable transportation

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift a full case of wine (approximately 40 pounds) and stand for 4-8 hours per shift.
