Acme Hospitality is seeking a Tasting Room Associate in California to provide friendly, wine-focused service to guests. You will take orders, process payments, discuss wine pairings, and ensure accurate and timely delivery of food and beverages.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, making recommendations, using the POS system, handling payments, and upselling items while maintaining a polished, professional appearance in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused team.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience as a Server or Tasting Room Associate in a restaurant or tasting room.
• Extensive knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine pairing and cocktail recipes.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide personalized and attentive service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
• Professional and polished appearance with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math for accurate order taking and payment processing.
• Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Understanding fine dining etiquette and service standards.
• Team collaboration skills and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays or plates.
• RBS certification for responsible alcohol service.
• Current Food Handler Certification

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide seating options and a wine list.
• Provide detailed explanations of the wines.
• Assist guests in selecting food and beverages with recommendations.
• Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system and coordinate with kitchen and bar.
• Communicate special requests to the kitchen and accommodate where possible.
• Serve food and beverages promptly with proper presentation.
• Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs, including refills and utensils.
• Prepare and serve specialty drinks if required.
• Answer guest inquiries about food, beverages, and services.
• Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and revenue.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate if needed.
• Process guest payments, including cash and card transactions.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth operation.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area and dining setup.
• Follow health and safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
