Job Summary

Job Title: Wine and Spirits Clerk/Cashier

Reports To: Wine and Spirits Department Manager

Assist the Wine and Spirits department by working closely with all associates to ensure policies are followed, goals are met, and associates' needs are addressed. Provide expertise on wine and spirits products, from pairings to local craft beers, guiding guests to the perfect selections.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet department standards in the Wine and Spirits section.
  • Monitor sales floor and stock conditions; address issues promptly.
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Collaborate with vendors and team members to exceed guest expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist guests in finding products.
  • Handle special requests and take orders.
  • Use proper phone etiquette when answering calls.
  • Resolve guest concerns effectively.
  • Process transactions at the cash register.
  • Keep the department clean and organized.
  • Ensure quality standards and quantity expectations are met by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old to sample products.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and respond appropriately.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, and perform physical tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate equipment.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Work may involve exposure to extreme temperatures.
Work Schedule

Includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on availability.
