Job summary

Hy-Vee in Decorah, IA is seeking a Wine & Spirits Clerk to provide prompt, friendly service and educate customers about products while maintaining displays in the Wine & Spirits department. You will rotate, face, and replenish merchandise and ensure high quality standards are met.

The role requires following local policies on tobacco and liquor, assisting customers, and working with team to create a positive shopping experience. The position is non-exempt and located on site in Decorah.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirement.
• 6–12 months of related work experience.
• Ability to learn product details and educate customers.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting suggestions, and enhancing the shopping experience.
• Educates customers about products and replenishes merchandise while maintaining high quality standards.
• Maintains displays, reviews invoices, and ensures compliance with policies on tobacco and liquor.
• Reports to work on schedule and works with team to ensure customer satisfaction.
